Mrs. Holden is very excited to be teaching 2nd grade at St. Anne this year! This will be her 6th year of teaching. She has taught in both public and Catholic schools and is happy to be able to share her love of Christ and the Catholic faith. One of her favorite Bible verses is “Here I am; send me” (Isaiah 6:8), in which the prophet answers God’s call. She believes that God has called her to be here at St. Anne and is looking forward to all that she and her students will learn and experience this school year.
Mrs. Holden has taught at DECATS (DeBusk Enrichment Center for Academically Talented Students) for 3 years. She holds a state teaching certification for Early Childhood through 6th grade and is ESL certified. She graduated in 2015 with a Masters degree in Teaching from the University of Houston Downtown. Mrs. Holden also has a Masters degree in Criminal Justice from UHD and a Bachelors degree in Business from UH. Prior to teaching, she was a Houston police officer for 21 years.
Mrs. Holden has been married for 30 years and has 3 children. She and her husband are firm believers in the strength of a Catholic education; all of their children attended Catholic school. Mrs. Holden enjoys serving at her home parish of St. Mary Magdalene as a lector. In her spare time, she likes to read, complete puzzles, and play with the animals on her ranch.
