Teaching in a Catholic school allows Mrs. Dawn Parker to share her faith with students in ways that other settings would never allow.
“God is an integral part of the entire day, not merely a small chunk of time,” she says. “From attending weekly school mass to starting each day in prayer and also being allowed to point to how the wonders and miracles of all in science are directly attributed to the wonders and mysteries of God, we can experience our faith all day and not merely on Sunday.”
Mrs. Parker earned a B.S. from Texas A&M University. She also took several courses in Biomedical Science on a two-year scholarship from the A&M College of Veterinary Medicine.
A twenty two year teaching veteran, she holds a certificate in Special Education as well. She has also worked DECATS (DeBusk Enrichment Center for Academically Talented Students) for the past five years. Her favorite reading includes historical romances, science journals and murder mysteries; and her hobbies include puzzles, reading, board games and cross-stitch. She stays active playing volleyball, running, walking her dog, yoga and P90X. She and her husband of twenty two years, Jeff, have three daughters.
