Mr. Mark Breckell is new to the St. Anne staff and will serve as the Athletic Director and Physical Education teacher after teaching overseas for the past 11 years. Prior to the Egypt, South Korea and Kuwait experience, he taught and coached in the Fort Lauderdale, FL area for 11 years. From 1999-2010, he served as the first Varsity Boys Basketball Coach in the school’s history, taking the team from a startup program to a squad that captured Holiday Tournament Championships on three occasions, in 2000, 2005 and 2007. Mr. Breckell was also an assistant baseball coach for 11 years, where the team regularly finished in the Elite Eight of class 3A. The squad was defeated twice in the state playoffs by the USA Today National Champion, American Heritage. In 2010, the baseball squad defeated #1 ranked Miami-Columbus in a game that garnered the school some national attention.
In addition to his coaching duties, Mr. Breckell also served as the Assistant Athletic Director for 10 years and was the Public Address announcer for the Panthers football team. Mr. Breckell is a New Hampshire native and Palm Beach Atlantic University graduate. His wife, Stacy, is a Missouri native and graduated from The University of Missouri. They have a 9 year old son, Zane, who is looking forward to living in the U.S. for the first time.
